Successful pod installation starts before delivery. The supplier, contractor and site team should agree the route, responsibilities, services and handover checks for the exact model.
Before ordering
Confirm the intended use, model, external dimensions, service clearances and location. Review floor loading where required, ceiling height, sprinklers, detectors, egress, accessibility, ventilation and power with the project team.
Survey the delivery route
Record vehicle access, loading restrictions, doors, lifts, corridors, stairs, turning space and floor protection. Compare each opening with packaged component dimensions and weights. Book lifts and building access in advance.
Prepare the site
Mark the approved position and keep assembly clearance available. Confirm that the floor is suitable and that electrical work will be completed by an authorised person where required. Store components in the conditions specified by the manufacturer.
Assemble and commission
Use the current installation manual and trained installers. Check panel connections, seals, door operation, glazing, ventilation, lighting, sockets and controls. Record serial numbers, configuration and any damage.
Handover
Provide operating, cleaning and maintenance instructions, warranty terms and contacts. Explain occupancy, ventilation controls and prohibited modifications. Keep signed commissioning and photographic records.
Relocation
Before moving a pod, inspect its condition, obtain model-specific disassembly instructions and repeat the destination survey. Confirm whether warranties, seals, electrical components or acoustic performance require manufacturer-approved work.
