Soundbox showcased its acoustic office pod solutions at ORGATEC TOKYO 2026, held from 2–4 June at Tokyo Big Sight. Under the theme “SHIFT DESIGN,” the exhibition explored the changing requirements of workplaces as hybrid working continues to evolve. Soundbox showcased the VRT Pod, Home Pod, and FHONE in Tokyo, expanding its range of acoustic solutions for private calls, focused work, and small meetings in modern open-plan offices
 
 

Soundbox acoustic pods showcased at ORGATEC TOKYO 2026

VRT Pod
The VRT Pod was presented as a solution for acoustic privacy and flexible collaboration in modern open-plan offices. Designed for focused work, private conversations, video conferencing, and small team meetings, the VRT Pod is available in six sizes, with up to 31 dB sound reduction and continuous fresh-air ventilation to accommodate a range of workplace requirements within existing office layouts.
 
Home Pod
The Home Pod was presented as a solution for personal acoustic workspaces in home and hybrid working environments. Designed for remote work, study, and focused activities, it features a house-inspired design, 25–26 dB sound insulation, integrated lighting, and built-in power, providing a comfortable and functional quiet space without the need for permanent room construction.
 
FHONE
The FHONE was presented as a solution for spontaneous calls and private conversations in open-plan offices. Designed for quick communication and focused interactions, its lightweight wall-mounted structure and acoustic buffering capability support teams that need accessible private calling zones while maximizing space efficiency within existing workplace layouts.
 
 

What Soundbox highlighted at ORGATEC TOKYO 2026

At ORGATEC TOKYO 2026, Soundbox highlighted the VRT Pod as a key solution for modern workplaces, with particular emphasis on smart control, user comfort, and flexible deployment.
 
Smart control — everything in one place. The VRT Pod’s Smart Matrix serves as the cabin’s central control interface, combining lighting, ventilation, and cabin environment settings into one panel. Users can adjust brightness, colour temperature, fan speed, and optional cooling directly from the built-in panel, whilst monitoring real-time temperature, humidity, and air quality.
 
The app — the pod is ready before you arrive. The AI Matrix Assistant app gives users remote control over lighting, ventilation, and optional cooling before you walk in. Access is just as flexible — unlock the pod through the app, tap the NFC reader on the door, or scan a QR code for quick entry.
 
The design — shaped around the experience inside. Soft-touch materials, refined acoustic finishes, and comfortable sofa seating create a warm, inviting interior designed for comfort during longer work sessions. Thoughtful details, from tactile surfaces to seating, make the pod feel less enclosed and more comfortable for extended use.

Applications for calls, focus, and small meetings

Office phone booths provide dedicated spaces for calls, video meetings, and focused work within busy open-plan offices. They give individuals the privacy to speak freely and concentrate without surrounding conversations or movement becoming a distraction. With configurations for individuals, pairs, and larger groups, the VRT Pod provides a flexible acoustic workspace that can accommodate different requirements across the office.
 
Focus pods create a dedicated space for longer periods of concentrated work, away from everyday distractions at home or in the office. For extended use, privacy alone isn’t enough — the space also needs to feel comfortable, calm, and inviting. With its house-inspired design and warm interior, Home Pod creates a personal retreat for focused work that feels more like a space of your own than a traditional office booth.
 
Private call spaces are useful when a quick conversation needs more privacy, but booking a meeting room feels unnecessary. In busy offices, passing conversations and surrounding activity can easily interrupt a call or make it harder to communicate clearly. FHONE creates a compact acoustic space for spontaneous calls and focused conversations, without the footprint of a full-size pod.
